Fifth Element Construction did an excellent job on our basement renovation. The company was recommended by a neighbor who was pleased with their work on his project. Likewise we were very satisfied with the work that was carried out on our house: the project was completed at the original quoted budget and was very close to the schedule also. Throughout the construction, the work was clean and tidy throughout construction, and every day after work finished, the tradesmen cleaned up the work area and left it tidy and free of debris. We would definitely retain Fifth Element for any future projects that we may consider, and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone considering a renovation or upgrade project.

We hired Fifth Element for a small contract (approximately $15,000) which nonetheless required management and co-ordination of numerous trades and City permits. Bottom line is that FEC delivered on time and on budget, which in our experience sets FEC apart from almost every other firm. Highly recommend.

Fifth Element was recommended to us and we could not have been happier with our choice in contractors.  We completely redid our kitchen, including taking out a load bearing wall, and added on a large deck. Their budgeting was right on and they communicated really well with us every step of the way. Scott and his crew were also really aware of our family’s space and they were very respectful of us and our children. We chose Fifth Element as our contractors via a competitive process. From the outset we were impressed by their honesty and direct approach. The renovation was long, some six months, we were able to live in the condo while the work went on - we had originally planned to move out but on Fifth Element’s advice, as well as their care and attention to detail, we were able to remain in the apartment. Fifth Element staff and contractors were unfailingly polite, in the entire renovation there were no complaints from any of the other residents in this strata and that's quite the achievement. On the contrary we received frequent positive comments. For sure, things went wrong from time to time and the job scope changed, mainly driven by us, Fifth Element responded positively to all issues, challenges and changes. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending these first class contractors, they did a great job.

Fifth Element Construction did a fantastic job on our renovation. We will definitely be giving them a call when we get on to round 2. They were particularly good at sorting out the inevitable issues that happen with every large project. Whether it was calling for out-of-stock tiles at 7 a.m. on a Saturday, or working to find a solution for a stubborn hidden door, they always delivered the goods.

Our strata council had decided to do some repairs on our townhouses to freshen up the complex, we had several quotes from other contractors. We decided to go with Fifth Element after meeting with them due to their professionalism and straightforward approach to solving problems was greatly appreciated. There were a few alternatives that we could have done but after listening to Fifth Element ‘s proposal we knew that they were advising the best solutions for long term care of the complex. We were not disappointed. Every job that was given to them was handled the same way, with courtesy and a solution that was best for the long term care of the building. Fifth Element is very rare in building trades, because it is not all about the money with them, but more about how they care about their work and reputation. Scott and his team at 5th Element were contracted to renovate our penthouse unit in South Granville. They provided all the needs of the project from beginning to end. They were very capable of managing all aspects of the work from bringing the vison of our designer to life and also helping us save money whenever they can. I often say that the only thing that went right with our $400,000 renovation was working with Scott and Fifth Element Construction. Luckily for us that’s the only thing that needed to go our way. I don’t know about you, but I get stressed about pretty much everything and at the top of that list is money, the unexpected and people. Fifth Element Construction’s meticulously accounting and planning made money and scheduling a concern we soberly faced at the beginning of the project, with little or no surprises after that. Not to suggest that there weren’t any surprises. Countless technical difficulties came up and this is where I truly believe Scott is a cut above his competition. He is immensely knowledgeable and a truly creative trouble shooter. His calm, friendly and reassuring nature made any unforeseen hurdle an inevitable and even fun challenge. He also gets the business. It’s about relationships. He cares as much about his clients as he does his workers and the trades he employs. In fact, I never met a trade that worked with Scott that wasn’t as courteous and accommodating as they were skillful. I couldn’t recommend Fifth Element Construction more.
